The Museum itself is an elegant and distinctive building adjacent to the City’s imposing cathedral. Its 3 floors are devoted to the colourful history of this city dating back to Anglo-Saxon times, and host to Alfred the Great, William the Conqueror and many tales of battle, trade and sickness – the Plague took a great toll on the people of Winchester.
Hampshire Cultural Trust elected to renew their core exhibition detailing the rich history of Winchester with the iconic Gallery of 1000 Years.
What we did
Working alongside AudioNation and Motivation, the interpretation specialists, Inca was part of the team who developed an interactive touchscreen programme featuring two large screens, one at waist height acting as a dashboard of content, the other wall-mounted, delivering an array of information. The content consisted of 3D characters recounting stories, written biographies and side notes, locations of interest and ancient coins.
Our deliverables:
- Design concept
- Storyboarding of content
- UI design – visual dashboard, timeline and content framework
- Creation of graphics for embedding in the interactive timeline
