Currently, the Museum houses a collection of significant ancient artifacts displayed in a simple setting with little to no interpretation or professional presentation. We were approached to develop a Masterplan to transform this fascinating historic fort into a World Class National Museum, cultural centre and visitor experience.
This project is important both for the people of Ras Al Khaimah and for tourism so that the story of Ras Al Khaimah’s fascinating history is preserved for future generations. Working with a largely blank canvas, the potential and the scale of what this encompasses is vast and exciting.
Inca Creative’s Role
Inca formed part of the core committee, a team of international museum consultants tasked with creating a Master Plan for the redesign and redevelopment of the Museum, including the currently unmapped and untapped wider heritage offering for Ras Al Khaimah.
The focus of our work centred around:
- An initial report with observations and suggestions for everything from signage & wayfinding to interpretation panels, guide books, leaflets, advertising and everything required visually to support a World Class Museum
- The specification and development of the brand for the wider heritage offering and the Museum itself.
- Consideration of all aspects of the digital requirement including a multi-lingual website, online shop, EPOS/booking system and events calendar
- Scoping and specification of a mobile App to cover the Museum and all heritage sites in Ras Al Khaimah
